A Visit with Great-Grandma

Kevin's 92-year-old Grandma was recently admitted to the hospital and isn't expected to live much longer. We went out as a family to visit her yesterday. It was Jake's first longer car drive and he did okay, crying off and on there and back. The older kids did great and we made quite an impression with the nurses and everyone we passed at the hospital. Who wouldn't stop to admire our three beautiful children, including a very little baby? Oh, and Benny's red and blue Elmo sunglasses were quite the hit too. :)

Grandma Ethel was very pleased to see us and excited to meet baby Jacob. And she even got to glimpse one of his huge smiles.

One of the highlights for Abby and Ben was getting to look out the huge window down at the town. The hospital sits high upon a hill and has a great view of the town and harbor.

When we got back home, the kids were tuckered out and took a late nap. I snuck in to check on them and snapped the picture below. There is just something so incredibly precious about seeing your little one sound asleep, safe and content.

This evening, Abby drew some pictures for Great-Grandma. Kevin is going to return tomorrow to visit her again and we thought it would be nice to send something along to brighten her room.

So sorry to hear about Kevin's Grandma. I have many memories of "More Mas" from all the time I spent with Gene and Melissa. Glad you all were able to spend some time with her. I'm sure it meant a lot!
