Puzzles

Abby is very into puzzles. She loves to do puzzles when she first wakes up...

...she loves to do puzzles in the afternoon before nap...

...and she loves to do puzzles just about any other time in between - except when Ben is bugging her and trying to take the puzzle pieces! :o)

Abby is actually quite good at puzzles and has been since she was very young. She took an interest in the wooden "baby" puzzles long before Ben ever did and mastered them quickly. We were always impressed then so I suppose we shouldn't be surprised that she does so well with the more advanced puzzles now. It's nice that she has a quiet activity she can do all by herself for long periods of time. She patiently and carefully works at it until she gets all the pieces to fit. It's enjoyable to watch.

Abby definitely has a longer attention span for detail-oriented, sit-down activities than her brother does. He is just now starting to show a bit of interest in puzzles and is far from mastering them.

In fact, his favorite thing to do with the wooden puzzles is to either suck on the pieces or step on the whole thing. Or bang the pieces on the coffee table. Yep, definitely a different take on them than Abby had at his age. :o)

It's fun how different children are from each other. :)

And by the way, my brother likes puzzles. I can't stand them. They take too much precious time away from reading books. :P
