Yesterday I took the kids to the library because we needed to return some books. But it was such a beautiful day that I didn't want to stay long at the library and talked the kids into leaving fairly quickly with the promise of going to a special park. Since the mountains were looking especially gorgeous when we drove through town, I thought it would be a lot of fun to go to the park down by Percival Landing where there is a great view of the Olympic Mountains. But when we pulled up, we were very disappointed to find the park as well as half the boardwalk blocked off because of some huge construction project. Bummer. But since we were there, we walked hand-in-hand along the boardwalk, checking out the boats and watching the seagulls.
I was glad I'd brought my camera along, thinking the sunny day and pretty background would make for some good pictures of the kids. I snapped a few pictures of a seagull sitting on the railing, and then one picture of Ben.....and then my camera battery died. Ugh. These new digital camera batteries last so long that I often forget to keep my eye on the battery level and get surprised when it runs out (comparatively, Kevin bought one of the first digital cameras over ten years ago that the batteries would only last about 20 pictures!!).
I think we'll have to head back down to the waterfront on another nice day and take some more pictures. :o)

wow; Ben has really got some hair now!
I know, it's kind of sad to me - it's all "big boy" hair now, no more wispy, silky hair. :o(
love that kind of marina background!
