Family Get Togethers

Last Thursday, my aunt Doris was in Olympia and took my parents and us out for dinner. We had a great time visiting, laughing and eating. Aunt Doris was very impressed with how good the kids behaved and what a big eater Abby was.

Since it was so close to Abby's birthday (this Wednesday!), our server gave her a big ice cream sundae for dessert. Abby was quite surprised and excited about this special treat.

On Saturday, we headed out to Grayland for Kevin's uncle Howard's 70th Birthday party. On our way, we stopped by Kevin's boat so he could pump it out (it has a small leak) and pick up a couple things. It was Ben's first time down to the dock area and he was quite interested in all the new sights.

Abby acted like it was her old stomping grounds and enjoyed seeing the boats and Daddy's seafood store again. When we'd told her the day before that we would be going out to the ocean-beach to see Grandpa and Grandma and would be stopping by Daddy's boat, she also mentioned sunshine. We told, no, there's not much sun at the beach this time of the year...we were wrong this time! It was gorgeous out there and I wish we'd had more time so we could have gone down to the beach for awhile.

Then we headed over to one of Kevin's cousin's for the evening to celebrate Uncle Howard's birthday. Grandpa and Grandma were excited as always to spend time with Abby and Ben.

Uncle Gene and Aunt Melissa were there too and Ben enjoyed a nice, long nap on Uncle Gene's shoulder.

There was a lot of extended family there whom Abby doesn't know and, being shy, she stayed fairly close to Mommy and Daddy. But it was fun to see her be extra friendly with Grandpa and Grandma and Gene and Melissa since they were the most familiar faces to her out of all the family. Ben, on the other hand, did a great job being passed from person to person, smiling at everyone.

It was great to see all the Marks/Cornett family again and to show off our adorable kids! ;o)
