Siblings

It has been so fun for me to watch Abby's relationship with Ben grow and develop. She really enjoys Ben and rarely gets jealous of him anymore. Ben loves to watch Abby move around and likes to smile at her. Abby likes to share her things with him and calls many items, "Ben's, Abby's," meaning that it's both of theirs. She gets very concerned if he loses a sock or doesn't have a blanket on. She also likes to say, "Ben's turn" when we're changing his diaper and then, "Abby's turn," when we change hers. She likes to help give him a bath (I let her stand on a chair next to the sink while I'm bathing him). She even tries to "help" with the nursing or pumping and likes to say "Ben's milk" and points to my chest. =)

Abby loves to entertain Benjamin and will sit for five or ten minutes in front of his bouncy seat, adjusting the vibrator and music, showing him her kitties, and rearranging his blanket. Of course, when he gets picked up, she is quick to jump in and take his spot even though she is much too big for the seat now. =)

I can't wait until Ben is a little older so that they can interact even more. It's going to be so much fun watching their relationship progress!

Love it! I will be very happy if my 2 year old accepts her brother so easily.

For us the best thing for our children has to give them another sibling. It helps them focus on someone other than themselves and encourages that family unity to accomplish a common goal.

it's really great to have a sibling...glad abby already realizes that!

and, you gotta love a "mommy's helper"...that's a big bonus :o]
