Governor's Mansion Tour

Yesterday we went on a Christmas tour of the Governor's Mansion. Apparently, it is one of very few governor's mansions that gives tours to the public that the governor still resides in. The mansion is 100 years old this year and is the oldest building on our capitol campus. Here's Abby and Grandma waiting for the tour to begin:

Doesn't she look so big sitting in the chair by herself? =)

Abby's favorite two things about the mansion tour were getting to meet the governor's dog and walking around on the carpet in the ballroom. The carpet had a pretty design with circles in each corner - Abby would walk to one of the corners, put her feet inside the circle, and then went off to the next corner to put her feet inside that circle, over and over again! Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pictures inside, but here are a few pictures outside the mansion:

We also got to take a quick peek at the Christmas tree in the Capitol Rotunda. Abby LOVED the tree. It was decorated in a children's theme, with large stuffed animals, children's books, and toys. She especially loved the teddy bears.

And, plus, it was HUGE!
