Old Friends

Earlier this week we enjoyed a visit from my old friend from high school, Michelle. She now lives in Kansas, but comes to visit her mom and siblings here in WA every Christmas. So, minus one year when I had the flu, we've been able to have her over every year around Christmastime. And although our visits are much too short, we enjoy the time catching up and seeing the growth of each other's kids in person (we both have blogs, but it's different seeing everyone in real life! =).

The kids had fun playing together, and her children were especially happy that we've added many more toys to our collection since last year's visit (having a kid does that to you! =). It was especially neat to watch Abby and Michelle's youngest child, Daniel, interact since they are only a month apart in age. Abby and Daniel shared many hugs over the course of the afternoon, but no matter how hard I tried to capture them, this was the best I could get (the delay on my digital camera always makes it hard for me to get action shots):

All too soon, our visit was over (the kids needed their naps!), and we will have to wait another year until we see each other again.
