Worth the Wait

Earlier this week I had several errands to run, a couple of which were returns to make. I went to JC Penney's to return some shorts for my nephew Stephen and couldn't resist a quick walk over to the little girl clothes to check if there were any clearance items I couldn't live without. :) There was a cute t-shirt that caught my eye, but even at 60% off it was still $3.19. Not too bad, but I thought about the prices I could get at a garage sale and decided I better not buy it. I also saw a pretty summer dress for around $10, but after a moment of indecision decided that Abby didn't really NEED another summer dress, especially not for $10. So, I left empty-handed.

This morning, the kids, my nephew Ted, and I went along with my mom to a big neighborhood garage sale on the other side of town. I hadn't been to any garage sales in a month or so, so I was hoping to find some more clothes for Abby to stock up on for the year to come since pretty soon garage sale season will be over. And let's just say, I was very glad I didn't give into my almost impulse buys at Penney's earlier this week.

I got all the clothes and shoes pictured below at a couple different garage sales for only $12.50!! Many of these items would be that much (or more) individually at a store and it was extra fun for me that the total was very similar to the price I almost paid for only one dress and one shirt on clearance at Penney's. Yes, some of the garage sale clothes are a bit worn (but will be great for play clothes), but most are in fantastic condition and some were even brand new with tags still on! Buying kids' clothes at garage sales is definitely the way to go in my book. :)

5 pants
2 dresses
3 shorts
1 tank
12 tops
4 shoes
