Sweet Boy

Ben loves to give kisses now, much to my delight. Often he will just kiss the air close to the actual destination (whether my cheek, the cat, a stuffed animal or whatever), but sometimes he gets contact, pucker and sound all at the same time. Oh, and slobber too. :) He also makes a kissing sound almost every time he sees an animal, either a bird on the back porch, a dog walking by, or nearly every animal at the fair!

Since Kevin has been gone fishing so much over the past couple months, he had been missing out on the kisses and didn't get his first kiss from Ben until weeks after the rest of us got ours. :( But a couple mornings ago, Ben made up for that with one of the sweetest things he's done so far. Kevin had arrived home late after the kids had gone to bed and after being gone several days. In the early morning hours, I brought Benji into our bed for his early morning nursing (yes, grrr, it's still going on - I've at least got him to push it back an hour later now). He fell asleep in my arms, oblivious to the fact that his Daddy was there too. I try to be good about getting him back into his crib after he's done, but this time I fell back asleep too. When he awoke several hours later, he looked around and spotted Kevin. He immediately crawled over me and made a bee-line for Kevin. I thought he was going to "tackle" Kevin as he often does, but instead he crawled right up to his face and planted a big kiss right on his cheek. It was sooooo sweet! Daddy couldn't have been happier. :o)

Another special moment for me happened today. I'd dropped the kids off at my mom's because I had several different errands to run. When I returned and walked into the living room, Ben's whole face lit up and he ran toward me with arms outstretched, squealing in happiness the whole way. What a welcome! I love that boy! :o)
