Volleyball

Last night was our last volleyball game of the season and it came just in time for me. Over the last couple weeks, I finally began to notice my pregnancy affecting my play (i.e. not as quick on my feet, not being able to dive for a ball I normally would have, etc). So, although I will miss our weekly games, it is good that we are done.

Our team ended up taking first place in our division which was pretty exciting for us. It was our church's first year in the Independent Church League and at the beginning of the season we had been placed in the D Division, but were soon bumped to C, and then finally to the B Division. It was neat to see the team's progress and improvement from beginning to end under Coach Kevin's leadership. We held strong at second place most of the season, tying the first place team last week, and barely eeking out the win last night. We had to win all three games in our match and the other team vying for first had to lose at least one in order for us to take first place. Amazingly, we played strong and won all three games and then we watched on pins and needles waiting to see if the other team would lose one, which they did! It was a fun ending to a fun season!
