I think I've mentioned before that Abby loves to give kisses to anything and everything that she loves or even simply recognizes. Although this means lots of wonderful kisses for Mommy and Daddy, it also means kissing various objects on the pages of her books, most of her toys, the cow on her milk carton, the baby on the package of her diaper wipes, the kitty on her shirt, the flowers on Mama's shirt, and the list goes on and on.... Lately, she's taken the kissing to another level by using her imagination.
On the YoBaby yogurt containers, there is always a picture of a baby. As with most young children, babies are extra fascinating to Abby and the yogurt container always gets many, many kisses from Abby in between bites as I am feeding it to her. Not too long ago, my mom had some leftover Gerber jars of baby food that needed be used up and Abby enjoyed kissing the Gerber baby every time my mom served her a jar. That said, for the past week or so, Abby will often carefully examine whatever container I am using to feed her with, searching and searching for a baby. Sometimes when she does not find any pictures of babies (most of her bowls are quite plain!), she will say, "Baby, baby!" and kiss it anyway! At first, I tried to explain to her that there was no baby on that container, but then I realized she was just pretending and now I let her kiss away!
The other imaginary kissing she has done so far is with Kevin's shirts. He has two t-shirts with birds on them (Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles) which Abby adores. She points to the bird, says, "Daw, daw, daw!" (to Abby, all birds make the sound of a crow =), and, of course, kisses. But over the last several days, Abby has begun to pretend that many other shirts of Kevin's have birds on them, to which she will point, caw and kiss! Apparently, it can be just as fun to kiss an imaginary bird or baby as a picture of one!

This is good preparation for her becoming a big sister! The new baby will be getting lots of kisses!
This is priceless. I love loving babies.
PS Abby lets you feed her? Oh, you are lucky. That hasn't happened at our house for about 7 months and it's been VERY messy ever since.
Abby is so cute! She's really growing up!
Yes, I absolutely love to see a child's imagination at work. It really is amazing!
that is SO funny! sounds like she has a lot of love to give, which is good for her to get it all out before she hits her teenage years =).
Baby kisses are sweet...I look forward to having them again!
I was going to say the same as Aly Sun... except not that you are "lucky" I would go crazy!! :P Coleson started using utensils well before a year but of course didnt perfect it till right about then....I dont think I have fed him since he was about 7 months old!! He isnt really very messy though, which I am thankful for. Every bite counts to him! haha! and I have learned over the many months, it really frees up your time! ;)
