Snack Time

Ever since my friend Michelle came to visit in December, we have instituted a new way to do snack time for Abby. When Michelle and her family were here, there wasn't enough room for everyone to sit at our kitchen table, so rather than have the adults stand, Michelle had her three kids sit on the floor with their backs against the cabinet doors. I was so impressed that even little Daniel (a month and half older than Abby) sat there without getting up (well, only a couple times!) and carefully ate his lunch without spilling.

Although we don't have Abby eat complete meals on the floor, that same spot that Michelle directed her kids to has become our "snack spot." Abby has done surprisingly well with it, being that she is a very squirmy child. It has also become helpful to me since Abby will go over to the spot and plop down against the cabinet door if she is hungry. She loves to eat there and basically finds it a real treat to have a snack without being in her highchair!

Fun! I agree it is a nice alternative to having the adults stand! And, now that Abby knows what is expected, she can do it anywhere you need her too!
