Baby Calvin

I hate to admit this publicly, but Abby's bassinet is still in our bedroom at the foot of our bed. Although she moved out of it and into her own crib in her own room by time she was 4-months-old, I never got around to figuring out how and where to store it. Before I knew it, 5 months had passed and I found out I was pregnant again, so I thought, oh well, we'll just leave it there until the next baby arrives! =)

In the mean time, Calvin, our cat, has taken over the bassinet, claiming it as his very own bed. In fact, I think he thinks it's really for him and Abby just borrowed it for a little while. Every single baby item we brought into our home before Abby was born was tried out by Calvin - even the vibrating bouncer seat! Once Abby arrived, he quickly learned she got first dibs on those items (well, except the changing table - he likes to take occasional naps on it and I oblige him by changing Abby on the floor rather than kicking him off! =). So, for 4 months, he ignored the bassinet while Abby used it, and then slowly he realized she was done with it and it was his again! He still spends most of the night on my side of the bed, cuddled up with me, but the bassinet is his second favorite spot in the bedroom and he can often be found napping in the "baby bed," as we call it (Abby particularly thinks it's funny to find him in there!). It really is just the right size for Calvin, and, of course, all cats love to be up high, making the bassinet a perfect bed for him. So, Calvin, enjoy your baby bed now because in three months you'll be kicked out again!

Ha, funny! Terry put our female dog (60 pounds lab!) in the stroller to test it out before Coleson came. It was funny.

*on a different note, I cant imagine having a baby in with us for 4 months!!!!! Coleson was for 4 days ;) It was so great! anyhow...hope Calvin enjoys it, for now :)

Don't feel bad, the cradle we used with Luke I took all apart (it's from Ikea so it breaks down into pieces) but the parts and the folded bedding is still sitting in the same corner of my room. I never bothered to find a storage place for it all, either. I'll just have to brush off the dust, freshen the bedding and put it back together again.
