Friendship

If you are anything like me, you don't get together with your friends often enough. You periodically tell them that you should get together and once in awhile it actually happens. That is how it has been with my dear friend Kirsten. We grew up in church together and now she lives in about an hour away. Sadly, that hour has proven to be enough to keep us apart except for once or twice a year. Honestly, it's pathetic. But it is also because of this that I was so excited that only eight days after I sent a "we-really-should-get-together" email, we got to enjoy a visit from Kirsten and her almost 2-year-old son Gavin! Why do we let busyness and lack of effort get in the way of friendships so often?

Right before Kirsten had to go I realized that we still needed a group picture, but the kids were so upset by this time. Gavin was needing a nap, I had to interrupt nursing Abby for the picture and it was also a very hot day! I think it is so funny how mad they both look in the picture! =)
