Abby came down with some type of stomach virus Friday night that thankfully hasn't affected the rest of the family yet. I should have realized something was amiss when she actually asked to go to bed and skipped her typical bedtime snack. Later at 2:00am I woke up to her frantic calling. She told me she had to throw up, so I whisked her off to the bathroom and plunked her in front of the toilet. She cried, "No, I need a bowl! I need to throw up!" So, I raced to the kitchen to grab a bowl, hoping she wouldn't vomit all over the bathroom. As soon I set the bowl in front of her, she threw up - very neatly, quietly and orderly, just like she is. =)
We basically didn't get any sleep after that as Abby threw up several more times and couldn't sleep, but weirdly enough she was very happy and thought it was neat to sit in bed snacking on saltines and sipping 7up. Go figure. Even after throwing up all over herself and the bed the one time she did fall asleep for about 20 minutes, she had a blast taking a bath and I had to keep telling her to be quiet so she wouldn't wake Ben up. So strange. By time breakfast came around, she was still going 100 miles an hour, much more hyper and happy than usual. Kevin and I just couldn't understand how she could be so happy when her body was obviously not doing well. But she was definitely the sweetest, happiest little patient I've ever had to take care of during the middle of the night. =)
