Dad's Surgery

I keep trying to start this post and then delete what I type. So much is going through my mind and I have so much to reflect on, and I guess I'm just not ready yet to put it into words. So, a few pictures for now...
The long wait: 4 hours and 45 minutes in surgery - snacks and dear friends made it better (and, for the kids, landscaping work going on outside the window! :)
24-hours later: doing fantastic and even walked a lap around the floor!
Intrigued with the blood filling up the "Chest Drain"
The birthday boy whose mommy forgot it was his birthday until a nurse asked how old he was.
Heart pillow each patient is given: his heart is on the mend and my heart is thankfully not broken

Wish I could have been there with you during the surgery. I am so very glad to hear your dad is doing well.
