We did it all yesterday: church, potluck lunch at church, drove out to Grayland to visit Kevin's mom, had some ultra-quick beach time, drove to Raymond to visit Kevin's grandma, had dinner from McDonald's in the car, drove back to Olympia to visit with my mom and had dessert, and then returned home at quarter to ten and crashed into bed! Whew, it was a busy day!
My favorite part? The half-hour that just me and my precious girl spent on the beach together. We walked hand-in-hand, searching for shells and wiggling our toes in the warm sand, all dressed in our fancy church clothes with Abby wearing my huge jacket because I'd forgotten to pack one for her. It was absolutely wonderful!
Although my kids are not quite old enough to do all kinds of special things for me on Mother's Day (I did receive a lovely homemade card from Abby), I still felt very special nonetheless. Because all day long I found myself thinking of them and how blessed I am that God gave me these precious sweethearts to care for and love. They themselves are the greatest gifts of all, of which I am so undeserving!
Children are a gift of the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward. Psalm 127:3

I love the picture of you and all three kids in the sepia tone! My favorite is the sweet picture of you and Abby with the wind blowing your hair. So sweet!
So true. Mother's Day is a great day to remember how fortunate we are to have children. Later, when they arise and call us blessed, that will be pretty cool too!
