Spring Weather

You'd think that with this nicer spring weather we've been having lately that we'd be outside all the time and taking walks almost daily. Unfortunately, we haven't. I was trying to think about why I haven't been able to get in my walking lately (it's costing me in the belly area!), and all I could come up with was: (1) we've been sick soooo much for the past month or so, (2) Abby and Ben's napping schedules are basically opposite right now, and (3) we're busier. But on the sunny days, I always try to get outside even if only for a few minutes, whether it's going to get the mail and stopping to play in the yard a bit...

...or letting Abby ride on her trike in the driveway. We tried doing the trike last year, but she couldn't reach the pedals and it just ended up being a back-breaking exercise for mommy. It's so much fun now that she can pedal around by herself.

As for being more busy, I started another class at our local community college last week to fulfill my *hopefully* final elective needed in order to graduate from PBU. I'm taking Digital Photography which I'm pretty excited about. We've also had a few visitors lately (more on that in the next post). And crabbing is finally coming to a close, but Kevin is busy getting his own boat ready for the salmon trolling season that starts May 1st. In fact, yesterday Abby got to go on her first out-of-town trip with Kevin up to a marine store in Seattle so he could pick up some trolling gear. Everything went very well (including Abby using the bathroom!), much to my relief. Hopefully this means there will be more trips in the future since it's a win-win for everyone: Daddy gets some company, Abby has a blast hanging with her Daddy, and Mommy gets a nice break! =)

Abby holding the pink-colored plug (a type of fishing lure) that Daddy bought her as a souvenir from their trip, along with the stickers (I think they're bumper/window stickers =) that the store clerks gave them. She insisted on wearing the sticker to bed on her pj's, but she thankfully decided that the plug was too sharp to sleep with. Ha!

PS) I downloaded Google's free Picasa program today just so I could make some photo collages - it was fun! =)

Ben's morning nap is usually from 11ish to 12:30 or 1:00. We all have lunch and then Abby goes down at 2:00. Then Ben goes down about 3:30 to 5:00 for his afternoon nap, but Abby gets up around 4:00. It really doesn't leave much free time when they're both awake to take walks during the warmer part of the day. But soon enough Ben will move on to the stage of one nap and then hopefully they will nap at the same time! And soon enough the evenings will be warmer and we will be able to walk after dinner.

I'm sure you'll really enjoy the class. I took photography back when it wasn't digital. It was really difficult because we had to write down every setting of every picture we took and then match it up later. Now you can take 500 and look at your camera or computer to see what your settings were at. Much better now.

I like the collages. Your pictures are very good.

Sure were hoping for nice spring weather last weekend with the wedding. Oh, well. It is spring in the NW and we take what we can get.

Wow, late naps all around! Tate naps from 9-11am and then they both nap around 1-3pm (give or take, if there is an event or something it might differ...but day to day that is the routine) I "live" for my couple hours in the afternoon and then them both being ready for bed by 730(or 8)!! I am really looking forward to sunny and warm evenings, too!

I'll agree with the other comments and say nice collages! And also, how fun that Abby can go with her Daddy on little trips now.
