I had great plans for Easter weekend. I was so excited since Abby was finally old enough to really get into the spirit of things. For days leading up to Easter, we talked about what Easter really means (Christ's death and resurrection), but also about all the fun things we would do. I planned on taking Abby to one or two Easter egg hunts on Saturday morning. I bought her a cute little felt bucket from Target (a definite upgrade from her plastic sack she used last year!) and we practiced picking up eggs in the living room as fast as we could so she would be ready. I hoped to take her to Fred Meyer in the afternoon for a cake walk and to decorate bunny ears. And then later in the day I hoped to decorate my kitchen and prepare a scrumptious feast for my family. But sometimes things don't go as planned.
Friday night I came down with my 11th(!!!!) breast infection from a clogged milk duct in almost 11 months of breast feeding Ben. I spent most of Saturday in bed with a fever and aches. I felt so bad that I didn't get to take Abby to an Easter egg hunt and that my sickness made her miss out on all the fun. But, really, I was much more upset about it than she was! ;o) And, plus, I talked my sister into taking Abby to Fred Meyer, so at least she got to do a little something special even if it was without me.

Decorating a cake at Fred Meyer with Aunt Becky and Cousin Hannah (Cousin Ted took the picture; hence, the "cut-off" heads =).
I barely had the energy to get the ham and scalloped potatoes in the oven and thankfully my mom took care of the rest. I rolled out of bed just in time for dinner, which was indeed scrumptious. After dinner, the oldest guys and the youngest guy watched a little basketball.

Easter Sunday morning we headed out to Grayland to attend church with Kevin's parents. We hadn't been there for years, so it was great fun to show off the kids and catch up with old friends. Afterward, we had a lovely lunch and afternoon with Kevin's parents and grandma.

(Sorry for the glare from those WHITE legs...)
And one final shot from a few days earlier on a day when Hannah came over since she was visiting grandma on her spring break:
