Crawling Backward

Ben can move around a bit on his own now, either by rolling or by his latest feat: crawling. It's slow and more like squirming or scooting, but nonetheless is a definite form of crawling. Unfortunately he rarely is able to go forward, and instead ends up going backward away from the object he is trying to get to. Sometimes he gets downright frustrated and it's a bit amusing to watch.

In the picture above he had been playing with his airplane but kept backing up so I kept moving the airplane back in front of him. Then I got busy folding laundry and looked down to see why he was fussing. He'd finally made it across the living room and had backed himself up against the window bench and rocking chair. He could go no further and couldn't figure out how to get back to his airplane! He'll learn soon enough, I'm sure. =)

Tate is doing this too! mmm...hadnt thought to call it crawling, being that Coleson was doing the accurate form around this time...but I guess he is moving! =)

Emma never actually "crawled." She would scoot everywhere on her belly and eventually went from backing around to everything, to scooting forward, to walking at about 15 months. We were a bit worried about her. And then Mandy never scooted, but crawled early and like a pro. They are all a bit different, but each milestone is so fun to watch.
