A Rarity

Last week, I took advantage of Walgreen's offer for a free 8x10 photo collage (if you've never done a collage, I found it to be pretty cool and easy to do...they're only $1.49 regularly for an 8x10 at Costco). I decided to put together a collage of pictures of Kevin and Abby together and titled it "Daddy's Girl." As I browsed through our pictures, I stumbled across many, many father/daughter pictures and easily chose about 15 to upload.

As I did this, I sadly realized how few pictures there were of me with my kids, especially me with Ben, compared to pictures of my kids with everyone else. I am the primary picture-taker in our family, so consequently I am in very few pictures myself. And when I am, it is usually because I have requested someone to take my picture.

So, it was a rare thing indeed as Ben and I were perched on the couch watching Abby play, that Kevin - on his own - grabbed the camera and snapped the picture above. Other than Ben's red-eye (which for some reason happens in almost all his pictures - anyone have a clue as to why?), I think the picture is great and I'm so happy to have a picture of me with my special boy. =)

And what a cute picture too! I wonder if the red eye is because his eye color is so light? I have no idea if that is anywhere close to right.

cute picture! I have the same problem- I have tons of pics w/Everly and Derek and few with me and her. I have to give him the camera and say "take a picture!" lol.

I love pictures of moms with their kids! It really happens rarely for me as well. It's a great photo with both of you smiling.

The red eye happens with light colored eyes mostly. The flash of the camera reflects off them. Using natural light instead of a flash will help, but repairing red eye is really easy. All photo editing software has a one click fix because it is such a common issue.
