This past week my niece Hannah (my brother Dave's daughter) from Pasco in Eastern Washington was staying at my parents' house for her Spring Break. Hannah had lots of fun getting to play with Abby every day (Hannah has a special fondness for Abby since she is her only girl cousin). Abby, on one hand, also really enjoyed Hannah and got a kick out of being around another kid so much, but on the other hand, she also got easily overwhelmed by Hannah who is quite boisterous and energetic. There was more than one occassion when Abby would start crying and Hannah would worriedly say, "I don't know what the matter is. I was just playing peek-a-boo [or making funny faces, etc]. I didn't do anything. I don't know what's wrong with her..." Hannah wanted to treat Abby just like she does her younger brother, Solomon, and just couldn't seem to understand that Abby wasn't used to being around other kids much. But all in all, it was a very fun time and we miss Hannah so much already!
One of the fun things we did while Hannah was here was go to the Lattin's Country Cider Mill and Farm. It was a beautiful day and we had a very good time checking out all the animals, especially the new baby goats and lambs. There was one set of goats that were only a few hours old - so cute! It was a wonderful experience for Abby, full of all kinds of "firsts." At the beginning of our visit she was a bit apprehensive toward the animals, but by the end she was pretty excited and didn't even show fear toward the big cows...except she did get pretty scared when one of the baby lambs touched its cold, wet nose to her hand. =) I can't wait for all the other fun and new experiences we'll have now that the weather is getting nicer!

Cousins
Also, this weekend my nephews were up again. We all enjoyed the unusually warm weather on Saturday and I even got Ted to help me wash my car. Abby had so much fun watching her cousins run around playing. She shared many giggles and smiles with them all. I wish they all lived closer...

That's a cute pic of Hannah and Abby. I'm glad they had fun together.
Deb
what a fun way to enjoy the sunshine! Hannah looks like your brother so much.
Have you tried putting Abby in the grass yet? Daniel loves it! (And I'm sure he would eat it if he could!!)
Michelle - I held her over the grass the other day so that it tickled her feet and she seemed to like it okay. I haven't set her directly on the grass yet and it looks like it will be a little while yet - the weather has turned sour and looks to stay that way for awhile. Last Saturday it was 80 degrees and today we had rain/snow mix! Yuck! That's Washington's spring weather for you, I guess!
