Summer Tuesdays

Throughout the summer, I attempted to organize weekly park play-dates for the moms and kids at my church. Everyone was so busy that we often only had one other friend show up and sometimes none at all. But that's okay, my kids always love trying out new parks with or without friends. :) This past Tuesday was our last playdate and we had several first-timers and our biggest group yet. I chose the final park of the summer to be the one next to our house. The kids had fun showing off  "their park" to their friends from church. :) Following the play-date, I offered to watch the children of my dear friend Leah while she ran a couple errands close by. Leah has six boys. Yes, SIX. And, yes, all BOYS.

After ransacking the living room (actually, I'm exaggerating, they didn't get all that many toys out :), they headed to the back yard. The bigger boys spent most of their time riding our various cars/tractor/big wheels on the deck and trying not to play bumper cars although it was inevitable in the small space. ;)

Yes, Darius, the purple car is too big for you. :)
After some close mishaps with the bumper cars riding toys, the younger boys ended up in the dirt play area with Ben and Jake. :) Aren't these two stinkin adorable?!

After they all left, our house seemed so QUIET. As Jake was napping and Ben and Abby were having a snack at the table, I came to the conclusion that I need to have those six Leaman boys over more often so that I can appreciate how relatively calm and quiet and peaceful it is here with only my three kiddos! ;)

(I really mean it, Leah! Let's do it again soon, stinky feet and all! ;)

Amazing. Does Leah have a Ben and Jake. I didn't know you did this on Tuesdays. Another ministry you are doing for our Lord.

No, her youngest two are named Lukas and Roman, but I can see how you thought this - that sentence is a bit confusing since I didn't mention their names.

I'm so proud of you for getting these Tuesday get togethers going, even though the results weren't quite what you had hoped for. As stay at home moms we need that social interaction, especially with Kevin being gone so much. If I lived closer, I would have come!
