We had so much fun visiting that the time got away from me and as soon as they left I had to scurry to get a tuna order done so we could race it off to the post office before the last mail pickup went out. The downtown post office just happens to be located a few blocks from Sand in the City and it didn't take much pleading from the kiddos for me to be convinced to head on over. :) I don't often take my kids alone to public events for obvious safety reasons, but I gave them a few lectures and said we'd try it out. They did wonderfully! The big kids stayed right with me and Jakey did decently well having to stay buckled into the stroller a lot more than he would have liked! It also made things easier that it wasn't nearly as crowded in the evening versus the middle of the afternoon like we'd done the day before. We got to do several of the crafts and activities we didn't have time for the previous day, we got to see all the finished sand sculptures, and then, of course, we ended up in the wading stream. I think we are in love with the wading stream!! It is soooo much fun!
It's tough to make Jake stay in any one area, so I told Abby and Ben that we all had to follow Jake wherever he went in the stream. This area was my biggest safety concern, but once again they did very well following my instruction and sticking with Jake and me.

Although Sand in the City is long over, the wading stream is there to stay and we hope that we got a few more rounds of warm sunny weather before fall sets in so that we can enjoy it a few more times this year! =)

Fantastic! Bless those precious little ones. The silly shot and Jakey on the rock are precious.
