Birthday Party

My nephew Solomon's 5th birthday was last weekend. His parents had a small party for him at the park next to our house. The theme was sports and we all had fun playing a game a whiffle ball (and I sure felt those stretched out stomach muscles as I swung the bat for the first time in several years! :). It was a fun, but chilly and windy party.

Ben ate nothing but cake (in extra-large bites as you can see in the picture above :). Abby, being the uber slow eater that she is, never left the table until it was decided that the party would move to our house because it got so cold. At least Kresint kept her company and entertained her with games on her smart phone.

My nephews Donny and Ted had arrived from Montana the night before for a six-week stay with my sister. We had not seen them since August. Donny has grown a ton and is taller than Stephen now! Ted broke his arm a week before coming. :(

Back at our house, Solomon opened his presents. Apparently, since Ben had recently had his own birthday party not too long ago, he assumed the presents were for him and was none to happy to be told they were all for Solomon.

I had to include this next picture of Solomon making Jacob smile...

...because it reminded me so much of this one from two summers ago with baby Ben:

Happy Birthday, Solomon!
