3-Months-Old

Oh, how things change in just one short month with a wee baby! Things are going much more smoothly around here now that Jake is getting a bit older. Over the last couple weeks, Jake has begun to spend less time in my arms as he's finally starting to enjoy time on the floor, in the bouncy seat and, more recently, in the bumbo chair (pictured above). Of course, floor time always has to be very closely monitored since Jake's big brother can be quite an aggressive bully. :)

He's also begun to sleep better at night (usually!) and has had multiple nights of sleeping 7-8 hours straight! Yay! (I'll take more of that, please! :). He still refuses to let me schedule him during the day, but his daytime care has become easier anyway as he's started to spread out his feedings more (anywhere from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours with an occasional 4-hour stretch).

We're still not sure what his eye color will be. According to the experts, that usually finalizes around 4 months. They're obviously not going to be light blue, but they don't really seem to be going brown either. Perhaps a hazel like his Daddy, or maybe even a dark gray-blue.

We love our sweet Jakey so much! He lights up our days with his nearly ever-ready smile and he doesn't seem to mind his mommy and daddy smothering his chubby cheeks or soft forehead with kisses either. :) Happy 3-months, Jacob! We couldn't be more blessed to have you as part of our family!
