Fun on the Farm

My cousin Jayne invited us down to go to her church's annual ladies Christmas bazaar and dessert. Along with my mom, the kids and I made a 2-day trip of it, visiting twice with Grandma and spending the night with the cousins. I didn't get many pictures of our visits with my Grandma, but she enjoyed watching the kids play and especially liked it when Abby sang a few Christmas carols for her. The kids loved exploring Grandma's retirement home, admiring her Christmas tree and playing with her manger scene.

It was so cute to see how excited Abby was about staying at her cousins' house and playing with them. She really doesn't know them all that well since we don't see them very often, but she is much more outgoing and interactive with them than she is with friends she sees on a regular basis. In fact, Abby was already talking about the next time we might visit them and how "Cousin Jayne said we could stay even longer!"

We took a walk in the cool but sunny morning, exploring the farm. Ben got to "drive" a tractor, we watched the pigs for awhile, and finally found the elusive sheep that Abby was so keen on seeing.

But the highlight of the whole trip was the kittens. Abby absolutely ADORED the four kittens. She just couldn't get enough of them and her cousins were quick to oblige her requests for the kittens to be brought inside.

Did I mention she LOVED the kittens? :)

Yes, it was a good trip! And hopefully next time we visit, there will be another batch of kittens for Abby to love on again. :)

The kittens would have been the hit with my girls too. There is just something about a cute fuzzy little kitten! :)
