Abby Talk

Most of these comments were written down several months ago. Usually, I try to jot things down as they come up and when I get about ten or so, I post it. Well, I haven't been doing too well recording Abby's comments for quite awhile now, but I thought I should go ahead and post these before they get even more outdated! So, enjoy!

-------------------------

As I nursed Ben, I remarked to Abby that I used to nurse her when she was a little baby. She pointed at me and said, "Do those have cow's milk?" I replied, "No, I have 'Mama milk'." To that Abby said, "When I'm a mama, I hope I can have 'mama milk' in my tummy!"

After lots of birthday talk about cousin Solomon's birthday that day and my birthday coming up the next month, Abby asked me out of the blue that evening, "Do you want purple on your cake?" (purple is a favorite color of mine). Then she asked me if I wanted a birthday present. I told her that would be great. Thinking of Ben's Christmas present, Abby said, "But no ball popper, right?" She didn't have any ideas of would be a good present, but at least she knew what would not be appropriate for a mom. :)

I told Abby that she needed to get her shoes on because Grandma was taking us out to lunch at a restaurant. Abby said, "I need to go get some money!" and ran back to Kevin's study where she keeps her piggy bank. As I finished getting Ben ready, I completely forgot about the money. Later at the restaurant, she set a penny on the table as her contribution to the bill. :)

After trying to pick up our cat, Abby said, "He's kinda a big little medium cat."

Most of the lights in the house were off as I helped Abby finish putting her jammies on. All of a sudden she jumped into my arms. I said, "Whoa! What's going on?" "I got scared," she replied. "It's okay, sweetie. I'm right here," I comforted. She replied, "I'm right here too, but I was just scared." Yeah, I guess the literal interpretation of I'm right here didn't comfort her as I intended. :)
