We had a lovely Easter Day. After setting the table and doing some final preparations for dinner, we headed to church in the morning. Because Easter came so early this year and since it began a dark and rainy day, it didn't really "feel" like Easter to me. But after we got to church, we were reminded what Easter is truly about: the resurrection of our Savior. Although it seems ideal to have a beautiful sunrise and birds chirping in the air on Easter morning, our joy is not diminished when we dwell on that very special Sunday over 2,000 years ago when Christ defeated death and by His resurrection gave us the hope of our salvation and everlasting life. I had the privilege of singing a few songs with choir and it was especially fun to look out and see Abby sitting on Kevin's lap staring at the choir (and I hope her Mommy!) through it all. She even tried to "sing" along with a couple of the congregational hymns - what fun it is to worship as a family!
After church, we headed home and soon Kevin's family arrived for our Easter dinner. We had a great time eating, playing Catch Phrase, visiting, and taking lots of pictures. No family get together is complete without lots of picture-taking, especially in this era of digital cameras. And just like most times, I found very few of myself that met my approval. My family all knows I'm pretty picky ("My hair looks bad in that one," "It's too blurry," "I look fat," "The lighting is wrong," and the list goes on...). So, thankfully, because of digital photography we can snap as many pictures as we like and sometimes I'll find a few I actually like, or at least are okay. Anyway, it was fun to have Kevin's family over - we definitely don't see them as often as we'd like. Later in the evening, my parents and sister Rebecca came over for dessert. We had some good laughs with them, and then headed to bed after a long and tiring, but satisfying day.

I'm glad you had a nice Easter, even though it was so busy. I LOVE the picture with Abby and her Mommy. So sweet. Grandma
