My parents recently moved across town. It's happy and sad for us. Their home of almost forty years (which I lived in my whole life until getting married) had fallen into disrepair and was severely out-dated. Honestly, I didn't really enjoy visiting it anymore, so our visits got more and more infrequent over the past couple years. However, that said, my parents did come to our house all the time! We have so enjoyed the past 14 years of living just 1.5 miles from my parents. Not only has the help been nice (I can't tell you how many times they've dropped something by for me on their way to the freeway or downtown!), but we've just plain enjoyed their company. So, the happy part about the new house is that it's significantly nicer and there's room for large family gatherings (and I no longer have to host Gardner family gatherings!) :), so we actually look forward to going to their house now, but the sad part is that it's across town and about 20 minutes from us. :( It will be a change to get used to for sure and we are already missing the frequent sight of my mom or dad pulling into the driveway unexpectedly. The nice thing though is that their new house is very near our church, so Sunday afternoons at Grandpa and Grandma's might become a quick tradition. :) We had one such afternoon a few weeks ago. At that time, I didn't think about taking pictures of the actual house so you can't tell much from the pictures, but you can gather that everyone likes it there! :)
A huge draw for the kids is the neighbor's horse that gallops right up to the fence whenever anyone comes outside! What a backyard view, eh? :)

I'm really happy for my parents, especially my mom. She's had to put up with an ugly, run-down house for so long! Now they can relax in their older years in a nice, one-story house in a picturesque setting where the family can enjoy coming for visits.
