So, I think I will just make a fresh start today, with hopes of maybe playing some catch up when I get a chance here or there. Maybe. Because to be honest, I don't have very many "chances here or there" anymore! Ha!
Yesterday, we had a busy fun day. We started off in the morning watching my niece Hannah run in a cross-country meet in Steilacoom for her new school (my old high school!). Then we continued on to the zoo, and finished up at Krispy Kreme for Talk Like a Pirate Day (you get a free box of donuts if you dress up - thanks to my brother's family for the hand-me-down costumes that we got some great use out of!). :) My nephew Donald has been staying with us for awhile, often working with Kevin at the store, so we convinced him to tag along with us for the day, and my mom came too.

Lizzy enjoyed her first trip to the zoo, with her favorite part by far being the aquarium. She got so excited to get up close to the fish/jelly fish/crab/whatever and actually touch the glass. So cute!
It was a sweet ending to a fun day at Krispy Kreme! It was the kids' first time there (and possibly the first time I'd been back in about a decade since I took my nephews when they were young!), and they were enthralled with watching the doughnut-making process. We ended up receiving three boxes of free doughnuts because the manager said Jake was so cute even without a costume. :)
