November Activities

It's just point and shoot type of pictures for November! Sorry, it's so boring! We did go to the Children's Museum a couple times, but when I''m out and about with all four on my own, there's no way I'm lugging the camera too (and to be honest, it doesn't happen much anyway - easier just to stay home!).

Anyway, here the boys are finding creative ways to use their Halloween candy since their mama doesn't let them have more than one per day. Sometimes, they have fun sorting by kinds or by shape too! :)

Abby often does her Bible study here on the couch with the cat - completely inefficient, but very much cute and cuddly. :)

Kevin was a little upset with me last year when I sprung the AWANA Grand Prix on him at the last second....but this year, we still flew by the seat of our pants because Kevin was gone so much working on crab gear and kept not having time to help the kids as he had planned. Finally, the kids put together their cars the night before with whatever supplies we could muster up - it was a late night when they finished since daddy didn't get home until around nine! Jake loved making his pick-up the same color as his daddy's.

My often girly Abby surprised me by making a firetruck. Her vehicle won the most races compared to the boys, but Benny was happy not to be last every time like the previous year! :)

This picture shows me reading Lizzy a book for the first time - the other kids thought it was great and joined in!

In mid-November my mom and Abby came with me to take Lizzy to a specialist in Portland to have her tongue and lip tie revised by laser surgery. Our breastfeeding journey has been long and difficult and I will share about our it all sometime (for now, you can check out Dr. Ghaheri's webpage if you are interested - his blog is especially informative). On our way home, we stopped in at our dear friend's (Jean Russell) in Vancouver.

Remember those tuna boxes that drive me nuts at the end of the hallway? The boys don't use them quite as often anymore, but sometimes they come up with some creative uses. Here, Benny wanted a big office desk like Daddy's and Kevin even let him have some extra computer accessories.

I asked Abby to hang with Lizzy for a few minutes and came back to find her reading Lizzy a book. Lizzy ended up enjoying it for over twenty minutes! Abby is now the one to be found reading to Lizzy the most. Works for me - good reading practice for Abby, Lizzy loves it, and it frees me up for a few moments!

Lizzy tried the Bumbo seat for awhile, but she just never really warmed up to it.

After the lip/tongue surgery, I was able to quit pumping after every feeding and so we finally were able to start going places again. As mentioned at the beginning, the Children's Museum was first on our list but a close second was visiting Mrs. Bird and introducing Lizzy to her.

We hosted the Marks for Thanksgiving, which was a fun change since we rarely host the Marks gatherings (Gene moved to a smaller home, so that had a bit to do with it!). The kids love their Uncle Gene!

Uno with the kids and ladies while the men watched the football game in the study on Kevin's computer.
