Elizabeth turned 5 months a few days ago. She is the cutest, sweetest, cuddliest, kissable baby! We all adore her! I wish I could write a huge long post about her, as I've done with the kids in the past, but I only have time to jot down what comes to mind right now.
- She is very much a mama's girl. When she was a bit younger, she would often cry in anyone's arms but mine...including Grandma's (my mom) which was a first out of all my babies (thankfully, over the past few weeks that has seemed to pass finally). Last night, she was babysat by a family at our church - her first time being babysat outside our home and she cried for 45 minutes. :( She was fine within moments of me holding her when I walked in the door. :)
- She usually goes down quite well for naps and always has. Right now her typical daily schedule goes something like this: wake up at 8:30am, eat, play, eat, play, nap at 10:30ish, up at 12:30, eat, play, eat, play, nap around 2:30 or 3:00, up at 4:30, eat, play, eat, play, short nap around 6:45 or so, but is sometimes skipping that one now, and then nursing off and on all evening, sometimes catnapping in my arms, until she will finally go to bed at 11:30 to midnight. She simply won't go down earlier (she was always active in the womb until midnight too!). If she got enough milk during the day (yes, I'm still having some supply issues and I weigh her each feeding to keep on top of the milk supply, so I know how much she gets every day), she will sleep through the night until 8:30am (that happens about 4-5 times a week now).
- She LOVES to snuggle and cuddle, and squeals and giggles when I hold her close and cover her with kisses. She also will sometimes give me big, open-mouth kisses on the cheek and sometimes "dives" into me for snuggles. I love it! :)
- She is so smiley! You can do any movement or sound two to three times and she will find it hilarious. She especially loves it when Abby jumps up and down for her. :)
- She's not very ticklish (Jake was and is crazy ticklish!).
- Lizzy loves bath time (but not at first, unlike the other kids). I rarely use the baby tub anymore, but just hold her in the big tub because it's easier than getting the baby tub all set up and I'm usually giving her the bath because she had a huge blowout all over herself. She's really good at those, especially when sitting in the bouncy seat! :oP
- As long as my milk supply is up, she is a pretty content and happy baby. As the fourth, out of necessity, she spends a good deal of time on the floor on a blanket with her play gym or in the bouncy seat. I am so thankful for Abby who often holds her or reads to her when she gets fussy and I'm busy making dinner or something like that. What a blessing to have an older child that can help some with a baby, especially since Kevin is gone so much! And Abby loves having a baby sister finally and helping with her! :)
