Spring Break Fun with Cousins

During Spring Break, we took my brother's kids on two fun outings. One was the Hand's On Children's Museum. I love it when little kids hold hands on their own and quickly snapped this picture of Abby and Ben holding cousin Solomon's hands as they walked toward the entrance of the museum. :)

It was our first time getting to explore the outside area that was put in last fall (??). The kids had a blast! Lots of sand  and a beautiful set-up - I felt like I was really at the beach! :) The twisted sticks in the background is a cool maze-type sculpture thing that Jake especially liked to run through.

It was hard to pull the kids away from the outdoors, but I finally convinced them all to go inside. Hannah and Abby played restaurant for awhile while the boys played on the giant ship.

Later we wound up in the art room and I found Jake to be extremely adorable as he oh-so-carefully painted away in his little paint smock. So cute!

Our second outing came later in the week when we took the cousins to the Spring Fair in Puyallup (this time we brought my mom along for an extra adult!). Hannah and Solomon thought that we would go on rides and such, but we introduced them to a new way to do fairs on the cheap. ;o) We had so much fun, as the Spring Fair is really geared toward children and families. In fact, we didn't even get to all the stuff we wanted to and ended up staying WAY later than we originally expected! And we'll get some rides in later this summer - when they are only one dollar at the Thurston County Fair! :)

Popping Bubbles
There is one particular kid's section that my kids REALLY enjoy and they had fun showing it to Hannah and Solomon: an agricultural play area. It's a bit young for Hannah, but she enjoys playing with her cousin Abby so it all worked out.

The boys were in heaven in the dried corn boxes!

Grooming the horses.

Free face-painting!
