I didn't take many pictures at Easter this year, minus the standard group pictures. We had a nice time hosting the Gardner family at our house, although we missed having my Aunt Doris and cousin Paul, and my nephew Stephen and his fiancee Patti there, as we have in the past. And, of course, my dad was definitely missed as he had to stay in Alaska an extra shift since a relief guy didn't show up to take his spot on the ferry. :o( My mom took the big family picture.
While Kevin snapped the above "pregnant" picture of me, the kids asked to go climb in the new skiff Kevin had recently purchased for his boat. They were being so goofy. :)
Not having as many people as usual or anyone from out of town, the festivities ended sooner than normal
and we ended up not playing any games as everyone went home for various
reasons. Not wanting the day to end yet (there's just something about
holidays for me and wanting to make the WHOLE DAY last and be special!),
the kids and I talked Kevin into going downtown to Capitol Lake with us
to take a family walk (a fairly unusual occurence for us, since Kevin is
usually too busy to participate in such an outing!). I didn't remember to bring my camera, but I hope I won't forget the special memory and so I want to record it here. After walking part way around the lake, we took the switch-back trail up the hillside to the Capitol building, walked around the Capitol grounds enjoying the pretty spring blooms, and then headed back down to the car. It was a relaxed and lovely evening together as a family.
