Ben Talk

Kevin went to check on Ben who had disappeared into the study/office for a few minutes. He walked in to find Ben sitting at Kevin's desk and writing on some papers. Kevin asked him what he was up to and he replied, "I doing paperworks!"

I just finished putting Ben's church clothes on and told him that he looked so handsome. He replied, "No, I just Ben."

I was doing some stuff on the computer and Benny came up to me, patted me on the back and said, "You working hard, Mama. What a good boy, Mama!"

Whenever the kids are sick, I let them watch more videos than normal. Following a bout of sickness, it is always difficult to wean Ben off the videos back to our normal amount (one a day or less). He often tries to convince me that he is sick if he wants to watch a video. One time he woke up from his nap and told me, "I'm all better, Mommy" (his tummy had been bothering him before nap). Not long after, he asked to watch Mighty Machines (his favorite) and I told him no. He said, "But I sick, Mommy!" I said, "Didn't you just tell me your tummy was all better?" "Well," he said, "my eyebrow is just a little bit sick."    Similarly, weeks later, Ben told Kevin that he didn't feel good and then said, "My tummy needs to watch Mighty Machines."

Ben has a big sister which means you can occasionally find them playing dress-up or dolls together. On one occasion, Ben and Abby were wearing some of her dress-up clothes and I asked Ben, "Wow, Benny, are you a little princess?" I expected him to say no, that he was a prince or something, but instead he said, "No, I a BIG princess."

Benny complained to me that his stomach hurt. I mentioned that perhaps it was the candy he had just eaten. Ben said, "No, candy makes me happy."

Ben got to ride in Kevin's pickup to take a load to the dump. He was so excited! Kevin said that from the second they pulled out of the driveway for about 10 solid minutes Ben talked non-stop, pointing out everything they were seeing and talking about getting to go to the dump. Finally, he paused and said, "Boy, I just talking and talking and talking!"

We had pizza one night for dinner. Ben ate a few forkfuls and then exclaimed, "Pizza is my favorite color!!"
