Saturday Trip to the Coast

This past Saturday, the kids and I headed out to "Ocean-Beach Grandpa and Grandmas" for the afternoon. After meeting their adorable new puppy and eating lunch, the kids played outside with Grandpa for awhile. Jake zeroed right in on a flag at the edge of the cranberry bog (the flags are used to mark weeds) and Ben headed right to the sand pile with his favorite loader he'd brought from home to play with at the beach.

Then we headed down to the beach and "real" sand with Grandma. It was fairly cool and windy, but we found a nice, sheltered sand dune and the kids had so much fun playing for a couple hours. My camera battery died soon after we got to the beach, so I didn't get many pictures there. :(

It was a very nice day trip for us and emphasized in my mind how much easier things are now that Jake is no longer a little baby and is no longer nursing throughout the day at mealtimes (just two nursing sessions left in the weaning process - once first thing in the morning and once right before bedtime). Sometimes I wonder why we keep talking about having another baby. ;)

Actually, he doesn't wake at night to nurse anymore and usually sleeps through the night *I put that a couple posts back :). I realize that what I wrote is a bit confusing about his daytime nursing, so I amended it a bit. :)
