Full Weekend

After continuing to battle illness for another week (while Ben improved, Jake's croup developed into bronchitis plus he got an ear infection and Abby's bronchitis was borderline pneumonia according to her doctor), we at last put the nebulizer, humidifier, nose wiping, sneezing and most of the coughing behind us just in time to enjoy some fun weekend activities. This time we had antibiotics and they seem to have done the trick as Jake and Abby are just about back to 100% today (Monday).
Friday afternoon, Jake could still be seen wiping at his poor irritated nose.
Friday was Kevin's birthday, but unfortunately he couldn't make it home. So, Abby made him a birthday banner and we sent the picture to him on his phone. As sometimes happens, most of my family ended up at my house that evening so my parents got pizza and we joked that we were having Kevin's birthday party without him.

On Saturday, the kids and I went with my brother and his son to the Hand's On Children's Museum. We had soooo much fun together and it was so nice to finally get out of the house!

The cousins couldn't get enough of each other and so my brother brought Solomon over for an evening of play too. The next morning we actually made it to church (January was so hit and miss with all the sickness we've had to deal with!), and then after naps we headed over to my brother's for the Superbowl game. My brother bought a new house a few months back and this was the first time we'd been invited over.

Rumor has it that we are supposed to see Kevin today. The kids and I are quite anxious since he's been gone for over a week now. Originally he was to be home late morning, then it changed to afternoon, and now I haven't heard from him for several hours so I don't even know if he is still coming home! I just pulled the ham out of the oven and Abby is about to help me bake Kevin's birthday cake....so we hope he shows up tonight! :o)
