All Three

Jacob rolled over from his back to his front today and was quite proud of it!

The big kids came over to see what all the fuss was about and so I decided to do an impromptu photo shoot of the three kids, hoping to get a better picture than the recent chopped-off-heads picture with Jakey about to cry (see previous post). I failed again. Apparently, I lower my camera significantly as soon as I take my eyes off it!

But I did get this picture of Ben holding Jake which I thought was sweet, especially if you know that this is the first time Ben has REALLY held Jake on his own (i.e. as opposed to an adult helping or pillows propped up all around him). It's so much more fun now that Jake's older and isn't so fragile and that Ben is more used to him and rarely acts out against him anymore. I think he's finally adjusted to having a little brother! :)

My mom dropped by this evening, so we all headed over to the park so that I could try again to get a picture of the three kids together (it'd been bugging me that we hadn't had a decent picture of the kids together since the week Jake had been born). It was very hard to pull Ben away from the toys to take pictures and I didn't get many opportunities. Thankfully, having my mom stand behind me kept him seated for a few moments and she was even able to get the big kids to laugh. It's not a perfect picture, but it sure beats anything I've gotten so far! It's tough work trying to get 2 little kids and 1 baby to smile and look up (especially 2 kids that sometimes get tired of their mommy trying to take their picture all the time! :)!

Abby stuck around a bit longer for a few more pictures, but soon she was off to the toys too. I'm thinking that the park is not going to be a good place to have photo shoots anymore. ;)

Finally, I was left with Jacob as my only subject. He's actually starting to become my best model. :)

I think you are WAY too hard on yourself. These are perfect pictures. I would be thrilled to have a pictures of my three kids that they were all looking, let alone smiling. The one of all three is absolutely priceless! I love the one of Ben and Jake too. Nice work and quick fingers. I also love Jake's sweet smile in all the pictures!!
