Snow Day

What a lot of snow we got during the night and throughout the morning! The kids were so excited to get out and play in it (much more fun than the one-inch we had yesterday!). Kevin was anxious to use the new snow shovel I'd snagged for at 75% off for a couple bucks earlier this week (Apparently, Target put their winter stuff on clearance one week too soon. :o). After shoveling the sidewalk and driveway, Kevin made trails all over the yard for the kids to follow. Abby tended to go "off-road" a bunch - lying in the snow, eating the snow and just plain plowing through it - but the trails were especially loved by Ben who couldn't walk as well in the deep snow.

It was a good hour before Abby remembered the sled and begged her Daddy to take her and Ben for a ride. And so the pulling began, with a very pregnant mommy tailing behind (no snow play for me this time!). We ended up at the park.

When we got to the top of the big hill, Kevin began to line the kids up for a sled run and I asked, somewhat surprisingly, "Are you just going to send them down by themselves?!?" He replied, "Sure, I doubt they'll go very fast," as he gave them a push. Well, they actually did go pretty fast, but they loved it and all was good. :o)

Kevin had to trek down the hill each time and pull them back up - he got quite the workout! I always love being at the park when it snows simply because of the view - isn't it beautiful? :o)

Wow that's really a lot of snow! It is so pretty in the northwest when it snows. Looks like everyone had a good time. I remember it snowed a few times like that when I was little (probably not quite so young) and it was so much fun!
