Birthday Cake

This past weekend was my 29th birthday. Abby was so excited to make me a cake for my birthday that she wouldn't let Daddy put it off and made him help her bake it the first thing after breakfast. Benji, of course, had to be in on the action as well. Abby really wanted to frost the cake with lavender flowers (she'd been talking about it for days), but that wasn't something Daddy could really help her with. The cake sat there all day and I never could get up the motivation to go to all the trouble to decorate my own birthday cake (even if I would have had fun teaching Abby), so we ended up just using a tub of store-bought frosting from the pantry from an earlier coupon deal. It was actually quite delicious (the chocolate frosting had little chocolate chips in it - yum!), especially paired with vanilla ice cream, and I just enjoyed another piece right now. :) Thanks for the birthday cake, my sweet Abby-girl!

Ah ha! You changed your template too! :)

Happy birthday. Hope your day was special. It's cute that Abby was so excited to bake for you.

Mmm....so many things recently are pointing to baby #3 on the way!? I am suspicious! ;)

What a sweet daughter. I'm glad you had some birthday cake, even if it wasn't decorated with pretty flowers. :) You can teach her some other time. I'm sure there will be more opportunities.
