Big Sister

Things are still pretty tough around here. I'm healing from the labor fairly well, but we've been having a ton a nursing problems which haven't resolved a bit yet. So, for now, I nurse Ben awhile (a painful experience), then we give him breast milk from a bottle and then I pump - this can take up to an hour and a half. It is a very tiring process that I have to go through every 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours day and night. I'm praying little Benjamin will figure out how to nurse properly soon!

Anyway, that is the main reason I haven't been on here and the main reason I haven't gotten around to typing up Ben's birth story. I promise I will get to it, but I thought I'd at least post a few shorter things until I get the time and energy to type up the whole story. For now, I will tell you that I successfully had a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) without any drugs (not my plan =)!

For for the time being, enjoy these pictures of Abby and her new little brother, "Baby Ben":

Abby reading Ben a story.

Abby entertaining Ben in his bouncy seat.

"Helping" Grandma feed Ben his bottle.

Abby sharing Daddy's lap with Ben.

And, of course, we can't forget about her "other brother" whom she still bugs all the time. =)

Yuck! sorry to hear it's still rough going for you guys. It looks like Abby is being a good big sister at least. :) Very cute pictures.

Sorry I missed your call...two weeks ago-wow time flies. I'd love to talk. When would be an ok time?

congratulations on the new baby and thanks for coming by my blog! a vbac is a big success story! i wanted one so badly after my first c-section and in the end it just wasn't god's will. i was so disappointed at the time, but have since just reconciled myself to c-sections.

hang in there! those first several weeks are a big adjustment, to be sure. the one thing that has gotten easier for me with each kid is the knowledge that this "survival" stage is temporary, even though it feels neverending when you're in the thick of it. try to just enjoy the good moments and let everything else roll off of you as much as possible. it will get easier, i promise!:)
