More Birthdays

Last Friday, we celebrated Kevin's brother's birthday. Abby had lots of fun spending time with the Marks relatives and she seemed to especially enjoy some one-on-one time with her Great-Grandma Ethel.

Playing peek-a-boo with Grandma Ethel.

I also got some good pictures of Abby taking her sock off:

The first pull.

A little farther off...

I got it, Mommy! Here it is!

The goal: sock in the mouth!

On Sunday, my mom, Abby and I headed down to Oregon to celebrate my Grandma's 82nd birthday party at my uncle and aunt's home in Dallas. It was so fun to catch up with everyone and see all the little cousins playing together. My poor Grandmother fell a few days earlier and ended up getting a black eye (she would be embarrassed if she knew I put this picture up on my blog, so don't tell!).

Grandma and me with the cake I decorated for her birthday.

A highlight for the kids was playing on the trampoline and getting rides on the four-wheeler. It was a special treat to have my brother, Dave, and his family drive all the way from Pasco, WA for the party.
Cousin Julie, my nephew Solomon, cousin Josh, and my niece Hannah.

Throughout the evening, I watched little Jacob down more slices of watermelon than I'd ever seen anyone eat before!

My cousin John with his son Jacob.

As typically happens at Villwock clan gatherings, the women automatically congregated in one area and talked about babies and cooking and such, while the men congregated in another area and talked about farming and hunting and such.

And, of course, we could not pass up the chance to get a picture of the girls together again: my cousin Jayne's daugther, Priscilla (7 1/2 months); Abby (7 months); and my cousin Jeff's daughter (with wife Alysun pictured), Mandy (8 1/2 months).

You can check out some more pictures of the birthday party on Alysun's and Kelly's blogs.

You got some good pictures. I debated putting a picture of Grandma on the blog with her black eye. You are right, she wouldn't like it very much, but she HAS to be in at least one picture, it was her birthday.

Great to see you and catch up in person.

Jake did eat way too much watermelon... it was not a fun diaper change the next morning... it took a pressure washer :)

Sara, great pictures of our party for Grandma V. (Abby was a wonderful traveler.) We all had such a good time visiting and just being together as a family. Wish we could do it more often. The children sure had fun on the trampoline, and the adults had a great time making homemade ice cream on the porch. So glad Dave and family could make the 5 hour trek over the mountains to the family farm. We missed those who could not come. MOM
