Sick Kids = Lots of Movies

Last week Abby got sick with a fever, vomiting, etc. Thankfully it was over and done with in two days. But then a day after that, Ben and Jake came down with it. :oP Thankfully, it appears to have skipped me this time! Yay!

When the kids are sick, they are allowed to watch almost limitless television. Well, not television as in cable (which we don't have), but any of our movies and some options on Netflix (currently, they're allowed to pick from Mighty Machines, Kipper the Dog and Caillou). Anyway, when the sickness is spread out trough the kids, the well child ends up getting to watch a lot of tv too while the sick child lies on the couch. In the picture below, Abby is well (Ben was sick on the couch) and brought all her currently favorite stuffed animals, saying that they wanted to watch the movie too. She's so cute. :)

Some time later that day, we watched "The Fox and the Hound" for the first time. This time, Abby snuggled on the end of the couch with me. When the old lady had to set the fox free in the woods, several tears were running down my face. Abby turned to look at me and I was surprised that SHE had tears running down her face. It was the first time she cried for a movie. I thought it was sweet and special to share the moment together. :)
