Meet Little Bubba

This is Little Bubba, Abby's favorite stuffed animal. As I've mentioned before Abby calls our cat Calvin, Bubba, so we dubbed her kitty, who looks a lot like Calvin, Little Bubba. Little Bubba used to be just a sleeping buddy and was left in the crib, but now he spends lots of time with Abby throughout the day as well. Every time Daddy takes Abby on a "ride" in the laundry basket, she insists that Little Bubba has to come too. Abby wants Big Bubba (Calvin) to take interest in Little Bubba and often sticks Little Bubba in his face or tries to get him to sniff the stuffed animal. And, of course, Abby frequently just carries Little Bubba around with her.

Little Bubba has also become a very active participant in the bedtime routine. As we sing "Jesus Loves Me" to Abby, she waves him above her head so that his shadow appears "dancing" on the ceiling and chants over and over, "meow, meow, meow." After Abby takes a last drink of water from her sippy cup, she offers the cup to Little Bubba and makes a repeated smacking sound as if he's actually drinking. Then, Abby gives Little Bubba a kiss goodnight and holds him out for Kevin and me to give him a kiss as well (do other parents indulge their children so much as to give goodnight kisses to stuffed animals? =). Yes, this small stuffed kitty has become a big part of Abby's life.
