Airplane Museums

Early last week, with our membership to expire only days away, the kids and I headed back up to Seattle for one last visit to the Museum of Flight. I called my sister and asked if she wanted to come along (I had to bribe her by saying we'd go by IKEA afterwards! Ha!). She asked me, "Do the kids really want to go again already? Aren't they bored of the museum?" I then informed her that Abby and Ben had just been there only three days previous (she had been thinking of when the whole family had gone in January). I assured her that they could never be bored of going to the airplane museum...and, plus, I owed Jake a trip if you recall from my previous post. :)

As I knew they would, the kids LOVED it as if it were their first time again. :o) We stayed five hours. Yep, five! And we only left because it was about to close! ;o)

Two days later, we went to the Olympic Museum of Flight at the Olympia Airport. Our Seattle membership gets us in free, and although my dad had taken Abby and Ben a couple of times, this was Jake's and my first time - with only one day left on our pass! Why I hadn't taken the kids earlier, I do not know - it is so close and handy! Yes, the Olympic museum hardly compares to the Seattle one (or the McMinville, OR one we went to in December), but still the kids managed to have a great time and we spent 1.5 hours there. It helped that an Army helicopter landed right outside the museum and we got to watch the fuel truck drive out to refuel it - that was an unexpected, but fun surprise for the kids. :)

We will miss our trips to the airplane museums for sure....but I'm thinking a zoo membership might be in order this year. :)

So fun! I've never been to either place. And, Abby's hair is sooooo long!
