Evening Outings

As the days grow shorter, the opportunity to be outdoors after dinnertime is beginning to wane. I dread the fact that it will be dark BEFORE dinner in just a few months. I think that is the hardest thing about winter for me. But anyway, we're not there yet so we're trying to enjoy a few last evening outings while the weather is still nice too. Last night we went to the wading stream again, inviting Hannah and Solomon to meet us there and check it out for the first time. My brother was convinced it was only for "little kids" but Hannah and Solomon loved it too, just as I thought they would. :)

A couple evenings before that we met my sister Deb and her son Aiden down at Capitol Lake for a walk and a quick photo shoot for Aiden's 6 month pictures. Aiden sticks out his tongue more than any other baby I've met! It was hard to get smiling pictures, because that tongue was always out! (we did get a few though thankfully :o)
Silly Aiden!
Since I don't have a triple stroller, I threw Abby's bike in the car and hoped that she would be able to bike around the lake while I pushed the boys in the double stroller. About a quarter of the way around the lake, she said her legs hurt too bad to keep going. So what to do? Well, brother Ben decided he would take over (of course, he could care less that the bike and helmet are pink, but I'm sure he looked funny to passerbys! :). He was able to bike much further and kept up well....until he got distracted looking at everything and starting lagging behind. Like train tracks. :)

And then there were the gravel patches that the bike wheels would just spin out on. Thankfully, Aunt Debbie helped him out in these areas since he declined to get off and push the bike as I suggested. :)

Ah, warm, light summer evenings, I am going to miss you greatly until you return next year!
